PRIVACY
Your files stay yours.
Use Everyday Tools is built around local-first utilities. Most image, text, calculation and PDF actions happen in your browser, so your files do not need to be uploaded to us.
What we collect
We do not require an account, and we do not ask for the contents of files you process. Your browser may store ordinary settings such as a light or dark theme preference.
Files and OCR
Selected files, rendered PDF pages and OCR results stay in your browser. When you choose OCR, the browser loads the Tesseract.js engine and the selected language data from this website; the page images themselves are never sent anywhere.
Local processing is a boundary, not a guarantee
Browser-side processing means the selected input is handled on your device by the page and its loaded libraries. It does not protect information that you paste into another service, save in a shared download folder or expose through screenshots. Use a trusted device, keep your browser updated and remove downloaded copies when your own policy requires it.
Currency rates
The Currency Converter requests a daily reference rate from Frankfurter using only the selected source and target currency codes. Your entered amount and calculated result stay in your browser. You can use a manual rate if the service is unavailable.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 records aggregate page and tool events such as a tool opening, processing starting, processing completing, an error occurring or a download being requested. Use Everyday Tools does not send filenames, file contents, entered text, calculated values or extracted PDF text to analytics. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled, and IP anonymization is enabled.
Third-party services
The PDF, HEIC, QR code and OCR libraries, including OCR language data, are served from this website. Fonts are also served from this website (DM Sans and Space Grotesk, both under the SIL Open Font License). The only outside request a tool can make is the currency converter’s daily exchange rate from the Frankfurter service, which receives a normal browser request.
How to choose safely
Read the individual tool’s privacy note and limitation before using a sensitive file or making an important decision. When a workflow depends on an outside service, such as the currency converter’s daily rate request, the page explains that dependency. If the task is regulated, confidential or high-stakes, follow your organization’s approved software and data-handling policy.

Optional analytics controls
Analytics starts only after you allow it. You can decline and continue using the tools. To withdraw permission, choose No thanks and reload the page; any already-loaded analytics code stops on the next page load. Document contents, filenames and pasted values are not included in tool event payloads.
Passing a file to the next tool
After a PDF tool finishes, you can send the result straight to another tool. To do this the file is held briefly in your own browser storage (IndexedDB, key “uet-handoff”) and deleted as soon as the next tool opens it or after ten minutes. It is never sent to our servers.
Cache and downloads
The old offline shell cache is retired. Pages and scripts revalidate on navigation, while versioned asset URLs identify updated code. The site does not intentionally store selected documents or generated outputs in a service-worker cache. Files you download remain in your device’s download location until you manage them.
