WORKFLOW GUIDE
Prepare text before you ship it
Use representative input and inspect the output before pasting it into an application, API request, website or document. Formatting improves readability, but it does not prove that code is safe, data is semantically correct or an output matches a third-party specification.
- Validate JSON and XML before publishing; HTML parsers may repair malformed markup, so review the formatted result.
- CSV fields can contain commas, quotes and line breaks. Keep quoted values intact and confirm the header setting before exporting.
- Base64 and URL encoding are reversible representations, while SHA-256 is a one-way hash. None of these operations encrypts sensitive data.
- Regex matches and Markdown previews are helpers. Test edge cases and review links or generated values before sharing them.
Private, focused workflows
Text and code processing runs locally in your browser. No account is required and your input is not uploaded to a Use Everyday Tools server. The QR tool uses an open-source rendering helper served from this website, and the value you enter remains in this browser.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to paste confidential code or data here?
Text is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers, but follow your organization’s policy for sensitive material and avoid pasting live secrets anywhere.
Why does my JSON fail validation?
The usual causes are trailing commas, single quotes, unquoted keys and comments, none of which strict JSON allows.
Is Base64 the same as encryption?
No. Base64 is reversible encoding that anyone can decode. Use proper encryption for secrecy.
How long should a meta description or SEO title be?
Aim for roughly 150–160 characters for descriptions and 50–60 for titles, though search engines may rewrite them.
Popular tasks

Decode Base64 text back into readable text or a downloadable file, entirely in your browser.
SHA-256 Hash Generator
Calculate the SHA-256 hash of text or a file and check it against a published checksum.
MD5 Hash Generator
Calculate the MD5 checksum of text or a file to match a legacy checksum, with a clear note on what MD5 is no longer good for.

Convert an array of JSON objects into CSV that opens cleanly in Excel, Sheets and other spreadsheet tools.

Pretty-print messy XML with the indentation you choose, check that it is well formed, or minify it, with errors reported by line and column.
