About this tool
Deleting pages is how a 40-page scan becomes the 38 pages you actually need. Give the page numbers to remove, and the tool saves everything else as a new PDF, leaving your original untouched.
Common uses: Remove blank pages, duplicate scans, private appendices or irrelevant sections before sharing or submitting a document.
Practical example: Enter page numbers or ranges to remove, check the remaining page count, and keep the original PDF until the revised copy has been reviewed.
Important limitation: Page numbers refer to the PDF’s page order and start at 1. Removing pages can affect internal references, bookmarks or signatures.
The page removal is performed locally on a copy of your PDF; the file is not uploaded. Read the privacy information.
How it works
A new PDF is created containing every page except the ones you listed.
Real-world uses
- Removing a cover sheet before sharing
- Cutting private pages from a report
- Dropping blank scanned pages
Removing pages safely
Always check the page count before and after. If a 12-page file should lose pages 3 and 11, the result must have 10 pages; if it does not, a range was probably typed wrong. A quick scroll through the result catches mistakes such as deleting a signature page along with the blank one next to it.
Deleting a page does not erase information that lives elsewhere in the file. Document properties (see Edit PDF Metadata) and, in rare cases, content hidden in shared resources can remain. If the goal is to hide sensitive content on a page you must keep, use Redact PDF instead of deleting around it.
Digitally signed PDFs lose their signature validity when any page is removed, because the signature covers the original content.
Tips for better results
- Page numbers start at 1 in the PDF’s own order, not printed page labels.
- Removing pages can break bookmarks or signatures.
- Keep the original until you have checked the result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove several ranges?
Yes. Enter comma-separated pages and ranges such as 2, 5-7, 12.
Does this overwrite my source PDF?
No. The tool creates a new PDF for download and leaves the original file unchanged.
Are my files uploaded?
The page removal is performed locally on a copy of your PDF; the file is not uploaded.
Can I undo it?
The original is untouched, so you can start again.
Can I delete the first and last page together?
Yes. Enter both numbers separated by a comma, for example 1, 24. Use the page count shown after loading the file to find the last page number.
Does deleting pages shrink the file?
Usually, because the removed pages’ images and text go with them. If the PDF shares large fonts or images between pages the saving can be smaller than expected.
Is there an undo?
The original file is never modified, so simply download again with different pages selected. Keep the original until the new copy is approved.
