WORKFLOW GUIDE
A practical PDF workflow
Keep an untouched original, identify whether the PDF contains selectable text, scanned pages or interactive form fields, and review the output before sending or replacing anything. Each workflow creates a new download rather than changing the source file.
- Use the text editor for short visible corrections and OCR Correction when the source is a scan.
- Use the page organizer, merge, split, delete, crop, rotate, reorder or resize tools for document structure and print preparation.
- Use PDF to Word for editable text, PDF to Excel for row-based spreadsheet extraction and PDF to PowerPoint for presentation-ready page slides, then review the exported file.
- Use repair/validation before sharing a suspicious or inconsistent PDF, but keep the original because parser-based normalization cannot recover every damaged file.
- Use annotation for review markup, signing for local self-signing, and redaction when sensitive regions must be covered.
- Use password protection, metadata cleanup, compression, watermarks or page numbers only after checking readability, links, forms and signatures.
Private, focused workflows
Most processing happens locally in your browser. Review each tool's instructions and limitations before using an output for an important decision or submission. The individual pages explain supported formats, assumptions and trade-offs before you download a result.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between editing, annotating and redacting a PDF?
Editing changes existing text, annotating adds visible markup on top, and redacting permanently removes information by flattening the covered area. Use redaction, not a drawn box, for anything confidential.
Why is my compressed PDF still large?
Text-based PDFs are already compact, so Standard mode may save little. Image-heavy files shrink more, and Strong mode recompresses each page as an image, which gives the smallest result at the cost of selectable text.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
Yes, using OCR in PDF to Word. Accuracy depends on scan quality, so scan at 300 DPI and proofread numbers and names.
Is a signature added here legally binding?
This adds a visible signature but not a certificate-based digital signature. Whether it is acceptable depends on the document and your jurisdiction, so check the recipient’s requirements.
