About this tool

Resizing is for documents that must arrive at a specific paper size, such as a form portal that insists on A4 or a print shop that works in Letter. The tool places each original page onto a new page of the target size.

Common uses: Prepare documents for printing, uploading, binding, classroom handouts, government forms and consistent multi-page delivery.

Practical example: Use A4 or Letter for common office workflows, keep Fit inside page enabled to avoid clipping, and inspect the first and last pages when the source contains mixed sizes.

Important limitation: Resizing creates a new PDF by placing each source page into a new page box. Forms, links, comments, signatures and unusual interactive features may not carry over, so validate the output before submission.

The resizing runs locally on a copy of your PDF; the file is not sent anywhere. Read the privacy information.

How it works

Each page’s content is scaled to fit a new page size and centered, producing a new PDF with consistent dimensions.

Real-world uses

Fit or fill: picking the right scaling

Fit inside page keeps the whole original visible and adds blank margins where the proportions differ, so nothing is clipped. That is the safest default for forms and contracts. Fill page enlarges the content until the page is covered, which can trim the edges.

Letter and A4 are close in size, but not identical: A4 is narrower and taller. Converting between them with Fit adds thin margins on two sides. If the paper size is unusual, enter a custom width and height and check the preview.

Interactive features such as form fields, comments and signatures belong to the source pages and may not carry over to the resized copy. Always open the output and compare it with the original before sending.

Tips for better results

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing crop my PDF?

Fit inside page preserves the complete visible page. Fill page can enlarge content to cover the target size and may trim edges when the aspect ratios differ.

Can I resize only some pages?

Yes. Use all, odd, even or a custom range such as 1-3, 6. Pages outside the range are copied at their original dimensions.

Are my files uploaded?

The resizing runs locally on a copy of your PDF; the file is not sent anywhere.

Which size should I choose?

Use A4 outside the US and Letter in the US and Canada.

Will resizing change how the text looks?

The text is scaled along with the page, so it becomes proportionally larger or smaller. Fit mode keeps proportions; Fill can crop the edges.

Does it change the PDF page size or the print scale?

It changes the page size of the saved file. When you print, choose actual size rather than shrink to fit in your print dialog, or the page will be scaled a second time.
